# Quick Measurement
Quick Measurement runs a protocol without associating the result with a Project. Use it for instrument checks, protocol evaluation, or an individual reading that does not require Project questions.
Use a Project—not Quick Measurement—as the primary workflow for a reproducible study. Quick Measurements lack the controlled sample identifiers, treatment metadata, collaborators, and collection context needed to interpret a research dataset consistently.
# Run a Quick Measurement
- Sign in and synchronize protocols while online.
- Connect the MultispeQ.
- Select Quick Measurement from the main menu.
- Select a listed protocol or use search to find another protocol.
- Follow the protocol's sample and clamp instructions.
- Review the returned values, warnings, and traces.

While the protocol is running, measurement actions remain disabled until the MultispeQ returns a complete response.

Quick Measurement results are stored locally and appear in Measurements as Quick Measurement entries. They are not contributed to a Project because they do not contain Project membership, questions, or collection context.
Protocol behavior
Protocols are created by different authors and may start, wait for the clamp, or request actions differently. Review the protocol before running it.
